*When I first wrote this song, it had a totally different feel. It was a lot more poppy and happy in a way, and the vocals were doing similar things, but in a major key. Then we decided to evolve it a little further during the pre-tracking. I tried out a more middle eastern vibe in the chording structure. I came up with the new vocal melody on the fly and we kept it just like that for the real recording*. This song is all about dark entanglement with something that you want, but know is bad for you.
